A SMALL PICK-ME-UP: NUTELLA COOKIES

It’s day 8 of my “self-isolation” in the U.K. and I am sure a lot of us are desperately trying to find activities to occupy our time with! I myself, am getting quite bored of spending hours on Netflix and tediously scrolling through Instagram (normally my own feed, quite jealous of the life I was having this time last year)! So, I opened up my trusty baking book (“Tanya Bakes” by Tanya Burr) and found something quick, simple, yet delicious to bake. Most people could probably bake this with ingredients they already have at home. But if you do not (and you decide to brave the ridiculous queues at your local supermarket, and potentially the disappointment of what you need not being there!), make sure to pick up the following:

Ingredients:
-       200g unsalted butter
-       300g caster sugar
-       1 egg
-       325g self-raising flour
-       200g Nutella

Recipe:
-       Preheat your oven to 180 degrees (or gas mark 4).
-       Measure the butter and sugar and mix in a bowl until they are light and fluffy.
-       Mix in the egg, later gradually adding the flour until a dough is formed.
-       Add the Nutella, mixing it to create a “marble effect.” (Yeah, I tried that, and they just came out brown haha).
-       Divide your mixture into small balls and flatten them onto a baking tray (make sure this baking tray is lined with grease proof paper).
-       Bake for 12 minutes, leave to cool and then enjoy your delicious treats!

Something the whole family can enjoy while we get through the ongoing boredom of being confined at home!

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

P.S. Wash your hands!

P.P.S. Self-isolate!!
