MY BALI TRIP PART TWO: JULY 2019

Visiting as many places as I could in such a short period of time was really important to me when I went to Bali. Of course, I only had 6 full days there and I had to rely on myself to go to different places. As such, despite spending one of my days hiking up and down a volcano, instead of using the next couple of days to rest, I tried to tick more places off my list. Here is what I did on my fourth and fifth days in Bali!

MY BALI TRIP PART ONE: JULY 2019

I have just returned from one of the best trips of my life! As an early birthday treat to myself, I decided I wanted to go on holiday to the beach, a much-needed break after being cooped up in the city for months on end. Even though I went on this trip alone, I still had an amazing time, doing everything on my list and more.

THE CHINESE CUISINE

Back with another food update! It’s been a while (almost 3 months) since I wrote a small post in regard to how I have been managing eating food since moving to Asia. On the whole, it has been a great positive change. My eating habits have improved tenfold as I have been experimenting with different flavours, and surprisingly enjoying it too.

CAMP HUAXI

In a bid to earn some money over the summer, do some exploring outside of Chengdu and continue teaching in my long break, I decided to join my friend on a summer camp on Huaxi Farm (花溪) in Dujiangyan (都江堰). The week was filled with fun outdoor activities such as archery and hiking, delicious traditional Chinese dishes, and a week stay in my own treehouse (ending with a night in a 5 star hotel in the middle of the mountains)!

CAPTURING MY ADVENTURES

As my blog has been growing at quite a rapid rate since I came to China, I have been wanting to expand it little by little. And because of this, I have decided to add a new category to my blog. This category will be a place where I can display my photos from trips and excursions I go on (for example my upcoming trips to Bali and Thailand)! I already include a couple of photos per post, but I will use the posts for this new category as a place to exhibit more photos with a lot less text. Thus, it will become more interesting for more people. I do use both my Instagram accounts to upload my photos of travelling (my accounts are linked here and here), but I do realise some of my readers do not have access to Instagram, so this new category will be a substitute for that.

REFLECTING ON MY FIRST SEMESTER

So, just like that, 4 months of teaching have whizzed by and I am currently enjoying one of the many benefits a teacher has; a long summer break! While I do admit teaching (so far) has been joyous, rewarding and much more enjoyable than I expected, it has also come with late nights, early starts and long hours! The students have been wonderful to interact with and they have taught me so much about China too. I wanted to write a short and sweet post about what I have learnt teaching in China so far!
