DEALING WITH THE DIFFICULTIES OF LIVING ABROAD

I am not going to bother trying to romanticise this. Being on the other side of world is hard work! The cultural differences create an imbalance of emotions and makes even the simplest of tasks seem monumental. Obviously, there are times when I feel on top of the world; how did I get so lucky to be in China, preparing to work my dream job, with plenty of opportunities to travel as well? But sometimes the reality is that being away from home can be a lot to handle at times. I have my good days and bad days, my bad days can be exhausting and mentally demanding, especially when things aren’t going right, or I am missing home too much. However, the good days are becoming more frequent. With the end of my teacher training, and the completion of my final exam, I feel like things are finally starting to fall into place.

MY FIRST FEW DAYS IN CHINA

I thought I would wait a few days while I settle in before I wrote a post about how China is going so far. On Sunday the 11th, I said goodbye to my family, an emotional day with mixed feelings of sadness and anxiety, but excitement too! I won’t lie, my flights were filled with a few tears as I said farewell to my home; London! This post is just going to be a very quick and short update about how everything has been going since I landed a week ago, I hope you all enjoy!

The 18th of February is approaching fast – this day marks TWO years panic-free! I have already done a post about reaching one-year panic-free (you can read it here), but I thought I would write an update!

PLANNING FOR A BIG TRIP ABROAD

A lot comes with a big move like the one I am embarking on in little over a week! As well as moving over 5,000 miles away to the other side of the world, I am starting a new job and moving into a new apartment. Even on their own, all of these transitions are daunting and will be very stressful. Over the last few weeks I have been trying to do all I can to prepare for these big moves and I thought I may as well share some of these ideas with you all!
