FAMILY TIME: JERSEY, OCTOBER 2018

I have been putting off writing this post, simply because I didn’t think it would be interesting to anyone, or no one would read it. And then I realised that this is my own creative space and I am free to put whatever I wish on here! There have been a lot of ideas I have had over the last few months that I have not bothered with because I was afraid no one would enjoy them. This year I am going to make more of an effort to realise that I have the complete freedom to upload whatever I choose to in this space, even if it means getting limited views!

At the end of October last year, I took a trip to Jersey with my youngest sister and my mother. It was a really important trip for me to go on to spend some quality time with them, as I hadn’t up until then, and with China around the corner, time has been very limited! The choice to go to Jersey was my mum’s and I honestly didn’t think it would be as nice as it was. I won’t make this post too long, but I will outline a couple of the sights we saw down below.

Jersey is one of the Channel Islands just off the coast of Northern France. We were actually incredibly lucky with the weather, with sun and relatively high temperatures every day. Being such a small island, getting to the beach was never a problem. We went to a number of beaches in the week we stayed there for, they were so pretty and basically empty! The highlight of the trip was definitely a visit to Jersey Zoo! The zoo in Jersey is actually quite big and took us almost the whole day to walk around, great for families as well.

Our week in Jersey was incredibly relaxing and a much-needed break for all three of us. The hotel pool and sauna were wonderful too, reminding me of summer which was ideal! It was really lovely to spend some quality time with half of my family, whom I will miss so much when I fly to China.

We took the ferry to Jersey, but it is just as easy to fly there. If you are in need of a bit more sun and countless beaches without the stress of going abroad, then Jersey is a perfect place to visit.

Thank you for reading!
