A year ago today I uploaded my first blog post. Since then, I have uploaded 56 more. Initially, this space was solely for posts regarding my mental health journey. I just wanted to share my thoughts and feelings about my anxiety. Almost immediately after starting, I added more categories of posts I wanted to write. 25,000 views later, and my blog now includes various posts about food, photography, skincare, mental health, and of course not forgetting my China adventures.

My blog has seen me get a degree and graduate from university, do some traveling around Europe and Asia, move 5,000 miles away from home for a year and embark on a long-distance relationship. It has been a space where I feel comfortable to share my words and where I often go when I am feeling down or out of my depth here in China! I am so happy I have been able to upload once/twice a week while I have been here; I did not think this would be possible given the fact that I have been busy teaching and travelling around.

It still shocks and surprises me that my blog is doing as well as it is. Seeing that 5-digit number at the bottom of my blog increase on a daily basis, fills me with pride! Since the start of this year, I have been trying to use my social media platforms (such as my Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) to share my posts. And because of this I have been getting a lot more views and comments on a lot of my posts. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s enough to put a massive smile on my face! I love getting comments on my posts and interacting with some of my readers.

When setting up my blog, I decided to use Blogger. A lot of people use WordPress, but I find I can get that professional feel and edit my blog to my heart’s content through using Blogger. I have had many compliments on the appearance of my blog; most people saying it looks really professional and tidy. I love the way my blog looks, and it really makes me happy when I see all of my posts together on my homepage!

I have had my school friends and teachers, uni friends, China friends, friends of friends, my younger sisters’ classmates, relatives and complete strangers read my posts, comment and even send me private messages showing their interest in my blog. It has reached a much wider audience than I ever thought it would. My plan is to continue blogging for as long as I have something to blog about. I really want to continue this hobby of mine and see where it takes me in the future!

To anyone and everyone who has read, commented or just viewed my homepage on my blog, thank you!

P.S. For the next 4 weeks I am going to be travelling around Thailand and then popping back home to London for a bit, so I am using August as a small break from blogging. I will be posting quite a lot in the beginning of September to make up for it though!
