A WEEK IN HONG KONG: APRIL 2019

This week I had the very fortunate opportunity to travel to Hong Kong, a city that has been on my list of places to visit since moving to China. Hong Kong is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I was lucky enough to visit the city just as the weather has been getting hotter (but not too hot)! I hope you all enjoy a short blog post about my trip! For anyone interested, I have been and will be uploading more photos from my trip on both my Instagram pages, you can find them here and here.

When we first arrived in Hong Kong, we did a little exploring around the local area, finding out that we were staying only a 10-minute walk from the waterfront. An iconic spot in Hong Kong, the Avenue of Stars is a promenade that overlooks the water as well as the Hong Kong skyline. You can’t really go to Hong Kong without seeing it!

Hong Kong is more than one island, so we decided to make a day trip out of visiting one. Lantau island is where the famous Giant Buddha statue is located. The most convenient way to travel to the Buddha is by cable car, the views on the way up are breath-taking! The island also has fishing villages, monasteries and various walkways between the mountains.

Seeing the Honk Kong skyline at night was something I was really looking forward to coming here, and it did not disappoint! As well as seeing this from the Avenue of Stars, we also travelled up to Victoria Peak and watched the sunset over mountains and islands on one side of the peak and watched as the night lights came on over the city on the other side.

Hong Kong is a stunning city and I will definitely be visiting again! Being in Hong Kong made me realise again how lucky I am to have the job that I have. It is continuing to push me out of my comfort zone and give me amazing experiences which I am so grateful for!

I am excited to plan my next little trip!
