MY SUMMER BUCKET LIST

Although I still have three items to get through on my main China bucket list (the link for that post is here), I thought seeing as I have a long summer break, I would make a mini one for the next two and a half months.

Earn money.
A bit boring but necessary! As well as having fun and relaxing a bit over summer, it is important that I make as much money as I can! One of my main goals coming to China is to make a decent amount of money that I can bring back to London with me next January! As such, I have arranged various extra tuition classes, teaching in other schools in different cities, and I am participating in a summer camp in July.

Practice my written Chinese.
For the last 4 and a half months, I have been making a huge effort to speak Chinese as and when I can, especially at my school. While I admit it is not perfect and I still do make many mistakes, it is improving a lot! I have kind of neglected my written Chinese, because of my busy schedule but sometimes just out of pure laziness! With all the free time that I now have, I want to make an effort to get good at it again. Written Chinese was always my favourite and strongest part of learning the language at school for 7 years, so I am excited to throw myself back into it. It will be made significantly easier because I have all of my resources from school on my laptop.

Explore as much of Chengdu as possible!
Having lived here for a short while now, I can proudly say, I have seen a lot of this city. However, I am still finding little hidden gems just by chance! With all the free time I have now, I want to use it to get on the metro and get off at any stop to force myself to do some exploring and find more wonderful places! This is the only way I will see most of Chengdu before I leave China in 7 months.

Explore Sichuan.
I live in Chengdu, which is located in the province, Sichuan (四川). This province is situated in a basin and surrounded by mountain ranges and beautiful geographical features. Most of these scenic spots are reachable by high-speed train. My plan is to go to as many of these places as possible, if not over summer, then during the autumn and winter.

Travel out of China!
Yes, this one is on my previous bucket list! But I am currently in the process of planning a trip around Thailand, somewhere I never thought I would be going to! I am so excited to see some of Bangkok, to travel to the north and visit temples and the elephants as well as a trip down to the south to do some island hopping! As well as this, I am trying to figure out if I can afford a solo trip to Bali. I have wanted to go here for some time and if I have the means to do so, I am looking forward to being a bit more independent and travelling by myself! Of course, I will be blogging any trips away!

Focus on my blog!
I want to make sure that I am spending some of my free time directing a lot more effort into the content I produce on this blog. Recently I have been a little busy, so posts have been slacking a bit (apologies for this). My goal is to spend a lot more time planning and writing posts and asking more people for feedback and ideas on what I can write. As always, if anyone would like me to write about something in particular, please contact me or comment on one of my previous posts!

Much like my previous bucket list post, I will be uploading a part-two of this post at the end of summer to see if I achieved everything I wanted to!

I cannot wait for two and a half months of sun, beaches, traveling, relaxing, blogging and tutoring!
