The last part of this mini blog series is my trip to Romania’s capital; Bucharest. It was just under 2 years ago, when myself and most of the lacrosse club at my university took a trip here for our LAX tour after we had finished exams in the summer. I won’t lie, before finding out we were visiting Romania, I had never heard of Bucharest, and was unsure of what to expect, but I ended up having a fab time.
It was unbearably hot during our visit! We were able to spend a lot of time roaming the streets of this beautiful city and visit some hidden gems, like the Cărturești Carusel (Carousel of Light) bookstore, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. It was built in 1903 and its original purpose was to be a bank, but after being abandoned and restored in 2007, it opened as a bookstore. Certainly worth a visit!
The highlight of the trip for me was the two days we spent in Therme Bucuresti, a huge indoor space that has a waterpark and spa facilities. Located not far from the centre of the city, entrance to this place was about 80 leu (£14.46) for access to most of the park for the whole day! It was a great relaxing space with some exciting water rides and was just so much fun, and I’d recommend taking a trip here. Getting there and back was very easy; we took an Uber there and took a shuttle bus back.
As a group, we didn’t do a huge amount of sight-seeing. We spent some of the time completing lacrosse initiations, which was hilarious, as we made our way into most of the bars, pubs and clubs in the area we were staying! All in all, a relaxing and enjoyable trip to a city I probably wouldn’t have otherwise gone to! Enjoy some snaps below of our trip.

The travel posts I have uploaded this month have done a lot better than I expected them to! They have been really fun to write, and it’s been wonderful to receive so many comments on them. My last post on my trip to Italy received over 300 views and the most comments I have ever received on one post! Between now and the end of lockdown, I won’t be writing too much more on my travels, as I want to be focusing on other things on my blog.
I can’t wait to continue my travelling as soon as quarantine is over, I plan to go to many more exciting places, and I can’t wait to take you all with me!
